Hi, I am Rosie Fiore. I created The Local Salon with my husband in 2013 because we really wanted to create a world that would attract like minded people so we could spend our time on Earth with awesome and kind folks. We are about human connection, listening, learning and having you look like the best version of yourself after your visit with us. Through all of the dreaming and planning of The Local, never would I have imagined that there would be a global pandemic in 2020 that would force us to close 3 times and more importantly rob innocent people of their lives! But it did...and unfortunately The Local Salon on Lankershim did not survive Covid.  
HOWEVER...we are resilient and STRONG WOMEN! We decided to downsize, we cried, we took a deep breath, we packed our stuff up and found new locations to do hair at. And although the places we work may be different, the spirit of The Local is still just as strong, or perhaps even stronger!!! If you really loved and had a connection with your stylist and do not know where they went please email me and I will do my best to help you locate them.
We have all learned so much from the past year and we see the value in kindness, listening, learning and human connection more than ever. 
We do have one very strict policy in our new home and it is not negotiable. 
NICE PEOPLE ONLY! Seriously. We are honest, loving, and seriously NICE artists who LOVE, LOVE, LOVE doing hair. We are humans and sometimes things do not go as planned, but we will always work to make it right and treat you with respect...please do the same.

WHY DO YOU NEED MY CREDIT CARD FOR BOOKING?

We take a credit card number just to hold your appointment, we do not charge you unless you fail to cancel your appointment with in 48 hours of the scheduled time. Failure to cancel 1 hour appointments will be a charge of $50 and anything more than 1 hour will be a $100 charge. Many of our stylists book out weeks in advance so when you cancel last minute or do not show up they lose income for that time. We understand life happens, so just give us a call within 48 hours or you can cancel your appointment through our online booking system. *Email is not in accepted form of cancellation.

I LOVED MY STYLIST BUT I DON'T LOVE MY HAIR WHAT DO I DO?

We want you to be thrilled with your new look and we are happy to adjust your cut it color! Just call us or reach out to your stylists and we will be happy to make adjustments within 5 days of receiving your service. We do not give refunds for services but if you are not satisfied please come to us and we will work with you to make your life perfect (well at least your hair). 

CAN YOU DO MY KIDS HAIR? 

As for your children, we are not a kids kinda salon. The Local is a better environment for adults who are trying to relax and get away from their own children. We politely ask you to leave the kiddos safe at home away from all the chemicals and sharp objects we have at the salon. If you bring your kids with you to your appointment we will have to ask you to reschedule and come back later. 

CAN I BRING MY DOG, I SWEAR HE’S SO WELL BEHAVED!

We love pups, unfortunately there is a strict no animal policy in hair salons in California. We have the same regulations that restaurants do, not to mention some people are allergic or deathly afraid.

WHAT DO I BOOK FOR MY CUT AND COLOR?

If you have questions about how much your hair will cost please book a short consultation with your stylist before booking your actual appointment so they can answer all your questions. For haircuts we wash, cut, dry and style your hair so a half-inch off will take the same time as 5-inches off. Hair color is a separate service from blow dry so make sure to book time for that too.
